Is this staff holiday planner free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no limit on the number of people. The planner runs in your browser and saves there automatically.
Where is my planner saved?
In this browser, on this device. Nothing you type is sent to Team Today. Clearing your browser data deletes the planner, so use Back up to save a copy as a file, and Restore a backup to pick it up again on another computer.
How many bank holidays are there in 2027?
England and Wales have 8 bank holidays in 2027, Scotland has 9, Northern Ireland has 10 and Ireland has 10 public holidays. Christmas Day and Boxing Day fall on a Saturday and Sunday: the UK moves the days off to Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 December, but Ireland has no substitute days. The full list of dates is above.
Does the planner include Irish public holidays?
Yes. Switch the planner to Ireland and it uses Ireland’s 10 public holidays for 2027, including St Brigid’s Day and the June and October bank holidays. One switch covers the whole planner. If your offices are in different countries, Team Today gives each office its own holidays.
Can I print a 2027 staff holiday wall chart?
Yes. Print this month gives a one-page landscape chart for the month on screen. Print the year prints all twelve months, one per page, followed by the year summary. Leave types print as letters as well as colours, so a black and white printer works too.
Is there an Excel version of the staff holiday planner?
Yes. Download the free Excel template for a January to December 2027 leave year or an April 2027 to March 2028 one. Pick your country once and every month tab shades the right bank holidays. It works in Excel and Google Sheets, with no macros. To take what you’ve entered online into a spreadsheet instead, use Export to CSV.
Does the planner work for an April to March leave year?
Yes. Set the leave year to start in April and the planner runs from April 2027 to March 2028, with the 2028 bank holidays included. Any start month in 2027 works.
How do I plan leave for part-time staff?
Click the person’s name and untick the days they don’t work. Those days are greyed out so leave can’t be booked on them, and if bank holidays come out of the allowance, only the ones on their working days are deducted. Give them a pro-rata allowance, for example 16.8 days including bank holidays for 3 days a week. The pro rata holiday calculator works it out for any pattern.
How much holiday should each person get?
The UK statutory minimum is 5.6 weeks a year: 28 days for someone working 5 days a week, and bank holidays can count towards it. Many employers offer more, commonly 25 days plus bank holidays. In Ireland the minimum is 4 working weeks (20 days for a 5-day week), with public holidays on top. The holiday entitlement calculator covers UK part-timers, starters and leavers.
